We had a wonderful experience booking our ATV and zip line excursion in Costa Rica with Frank the Tank! From the very beginning, communication was easy, and all of our questions were answered promptly, making the booking process simple and stress-free.

Our tour guide Jason was fantastic. He was incredibly patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Since it was my first time riding on an ATV, he took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire tour.

Our experience with Frank the Tank Tours was even better than we could have imagined! When we asked for transportation recommendations in a Planet Hollywood social media group, we received countless referrals for Frank the Tank Tours—and now we understand why.

We booked a sunset catamaran excursion through Frank. A smaller motorboat picked us up directly from the beach at Planet Hollywood and took us out to the catamaran. Once aboard, we were welcomed with a drink and given an overview of the day’s itinerary.

Our first stop was a snorkeling area near the beach. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much marine life to see that day, but the rest of the trip more than made up for it. We cruised past Monkey Head Rock, spotted a sea turtle, and were lucky enough to see several pods of dolphins along the way. The crew also provided delicious snacks, making the experience even more enjoyable. Our only disappointment was that, because we were the last passengers picked up and the first dropped off, we didn’t get to see where the other guests were staying.

The evening before our last full day, I messaged Frank to see if he had any recommendations for a day tour. He arranged an incredible full-day adventure that included a beautiful waterfall, a rainforest hike, and the hanging bridges. Along the way, we saw sloths, two stunning frogs, and a couple of snakes before enjoying a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch.

Our guide, Alonso, was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and informative, explaining everything we encountered while also sharing fascinating information about the local area and Costa Rica as a whole.

On the day we departed, our driver arrived exactly on time and was friendly and professional.

Frank communicated with us the evening before each scheduled activity, making everything seamless and stress-free from start to finish.

We highly recommend Frank the Tank Tours to anyone visiting Costa Rica. Their excellent communication, knowledgeable guides, and well-organized excursions made our vacation even more memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again!

We did a 4 hour fishing trip today with Frank the Tank and the captain actually expected us to watch him fish while we just sat there and watched. He seemed annoyed when I asked him if we could fish too. It was almost 2 hrs into our 4 hour trip when we finally got poles in the water for in shore fishing. I’m not sure if we would have gotten to fish if I didn’t say something. Once we were able to fish he just handed us the poles with 0 instructions or tips. . It was quite bizarre especially considering all the good reviews they have.

I messaged Frank and he said this is how they do it in Costa Rica. So if you book a trip with them make sure you tell them you want to be the ones doing the fishing.

I one hundred percent recommend tours with Frank the Tank! We found this company on Facebook and communicated that way. We were given several options for our day in Liberia and decided on the Magic of the Rainforest tour. From start to finish we had a professional, friendly and personal service. Frank the Tanks company will provide all the transportation (which is so helpful!), and we had such a positive experience with our guide (Grey) and our van driver was also very personable and kind to our kiddos. The tour was amazing and we enjoyed it very much. We interacted with others who had done several tours with Frank and they had loved them all as well. Cannot recommend enough!

We paid for a 5-hour tour for a group of 9 that was advertised to include snorkeling, fishing, cave exploration, and a short visit to Coco Beach. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing from the start.

Our guides did not speak any English, which created a significant language barrier. Thankfully, one person in our group spoke a little Spanish and was able to help us communicate. It also seemed like the guides were filling in for the day because they kept calling Frank throughout the trip for instructions.

As soon as we got on the boat, we were told that we would not be visiting Coco Beach or exploring the caves, even though both were included in the tour we paid for.

The fishing was also disappointing. There were only two fishing poles for all nine people, and we simply trolled on the way to the snorkeling reef. The snorkeling itself had very little marine life to see. We were fortunate to spot one sea turtle, but that was the highlight.

On the way back, we stopped for some bottom fishing, but the only fish being caught were very small—around 5 to 6 inches long—and none were worth keeping.

Overall, this excursion was a huge disappointment and did not deliver what was advertised. We paid for several activities that never happened, and the lack of communication only made the experience worse. I would recommend saving your money and choosing a different excursion.

My family and I booked two trips with Frank the Tank.  We signed up for both the adrenaline and the rainforest tours.  We were super lucky to have Maurice as our guide for both of them.  He is extremely knowledgeable of not only everything Costa Rica but also had a great working relationship with all of the guides at each stop we made on both trips.   We learned so much on the rainforest trip and saw so many different animals very close up!  The adrenaline trip was also a great experience for our family.  Zip lining over the river that we later tubed down was very cool with amazing views from the top and bottom of the canyon.  Hot springs and mud bath after hit the spot as well.  We also booked Frank the Tank for both our ride to and from the airport to our resort.  They were on time, extremely professional, and the vans were super clean.  I can’t recommend this company enough.  Frank gets back to you right away and takes all the stress out of planning anything outside of your resort activities (he also can answer a lot of questions about most resorts as well). Tour with Frank the Tank. Our guide Carlos was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment our tour began, he made us feel like more than just guests—he made us feel like friends. He was incredibly accommodating to everything we wanted to see and made sure our day was tailored to our interests rather than feeling like a standard tour.

One of our biggest goals was to experience the local culture, and Carlos exceeded every expectation. He took the time to introduce us to local traditions, customs, and the everyday way of life, giving us an authentic perspective that we never would have experienced on our own. His passion for his community was evident in every stop we made, and his knowledge made each place even more meaningful.

What truly made the experience special was Carlos himself. He shared fascinating stories, answered every question with patience, and sprinkled humor throughout the day, making the experience both educational and entertaining. We learned so much about the area’s history, culture, and people while laughing and enjoying every moment.
